Meet Your Instructors
Hey there! We are glad you are here. We share a passion for education, the outdoors, and equipping others with meaningful life skills. Darrin and I are credentialed teachers with experience in public, charter, and homeschool settings. Darrin holds two masterās degrees, including one in education. I (Kristie) am a Wilderness First Responder, an herbalist, a Rev Wild Outdoor Leader, and a certified nature journaling instructor. Both of us are NASP Archery instructors. We are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy backpacking, hiking, and exploring nature with our three girls. I have also taught community classes on sourdough, fermentation, food preservation, and natural remedies. Darrin loves history, playing guitar, and rebuilding old cars. Attending Acres was inspired by the challenges our dyslexic daughter faced in the classroom. We aim to create a space that builds confidence and fosters a love for the outdoors. This legacy of valuable life skills is what we want to share with others.
